Scaffolding course 2-5 meters with fall protection – online course

According to “Regulations on the performance of work” § 17-2, the employer must ensure that employees who are to work with the assembly, disassembly, modification and inspection of scaffolding with an upper scaffolding floor above two meters in a standard arrangement, receive training. The training requirement also applies to rolling scaffolding over two meters. When it comes to fall protection, the Norwegian authorities require that employees who are to use fall protection equipment in their work are trained in its use (“Forskrift om organisering, ledelse og medvirkning” Kap. 8 § 8-1 General requirements for training).

Scaffolding course 2-5 meters provide theoretical training in accordance with the requirements of the regulations. The employer must subsequently document sufficient practical training (7.5 hours) to meet the regulation’s requirements for both theoretical and practical training. Course certificates for the theoretical part are issued to participants after the theoretical course has been completed. The employer is responsible for ensuring that the employee has received the necessary training.

Purpose scaffolding builder course 2-5 meters:

Provide theoretical training to personnel who will be assembling, dismantling, modifying and inspecting scaffolding with a top scaffold floor above two meters in a standard arrangement. The course also provides participants with knowledge of fall protection equipment and makes them aware of safety measures to avoid injuries and accidents in the workplace.

Target group

Personnel who will assemble, dismantle, modify and inspect scaffolding with an upper scaffold floor from two to five meters in a standard arrangement.

Part 1 – Scaffolding builder course

Understanding of plans for assembly, disassembly or changes to the scaffolding in question
Safety when assembling, dismantling or modifying the scaffolding in question
Measures to reduce the risk of falls for people and objects
Control of scaffolding
Safety measures in case of weather changes
Permitted loads

Part 2 – Fall protection

Laws and regulations
Control; daily and periodically
Storage and maintenance
Fall arrest harnesses, shock absorbers, fall arrest blocks and anchor points
Anchoring
suspension trauma

Practical information

The course can be completed on PC, smartphone and tablet as long as you have access to the internet. It is structured in modules with video, text and images. After completing the course, you must pass a test to receive a course certificate. Certificates of competence are issued to participants to meet the legal requirements for documentation. Note that practice is required for both scaffolding and fall protection.
